Our Adoption Process
Animal charities working together
The Branch has the pleasure of working closely with two local animal charities. Our cattery is situated at Gables Farm Dogs' and Cats' Home, whilst our rabbits are housed at Woodside Animal Welfare Trust.
Why do animals need rehoming?
Every day the RSPCA Inspectors in the region rescue cats that are sick, injured, stray or unwanted. The good news is that these animals are nursed back to health and placed in comfortable accommodation ready to be rehomed.
Can I go and see the cats and rabbits?
Yes, you can go and visit them during the applicable opening hours. There are lots of cats looking for a home – all ages, colours, shapes and sizes!
What is the rehoming process?
Once you've found an animal, we will arrange for a Home Visit to ensure that you and your chosen pet are compatible with one another. Once we’re happy you can give your chosen animal the home it’s looking for, you will be asked to pay a nominal adoption fee. Then you can take your new pet home!
What does the adoption fee cover?
The adoption fee covers the following essential procedures, which may include:
* Neutering/Spaying
* Vaccinations
* Worming
* Flea Treatment
* Microchipping
